Dr. Robert Tang Bau, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides outpatient psychiatric care through ICARE Psychiatry in Florida and Connecticut. He is known for his compassionate, patient-centered approach and for taking the time to listen carefully and address each patient’s concerns with respect and clarity.
Dr. Tang Bau earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and completed both his Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. He has over a decade of clinical experience, with extensive training in both general medical nursing and mental health care.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Dr. Tang Bau brings a distinctive and empathetic perspective to his practice, informed by firsthand understanding of stress, trauma, and the unique challenges faced by service members, veterans, and their families.
He provides evaluation and treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and trauma-related concerns, with an emphasis on evidence-based care and collaborative treatment planning.
Outside of clinical work, Dr. Tang Bau enjoys running, playing acoustic guitar, and spending time at the beach.
